In this workshop, we will present our recommended encryption solution: VeraCrypt. This round is addressed to researchers working with sensitive data at the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences (BSS). Researchers from other faculties are, of course, also welcome.
We will present the usefulness (and pitfalls) of encryption and then demonstrate how VeraCrypt works. The workshop will end with a hands-on session on how to create an encrypted volume directly on your laptop.
During and after the workshop, we will also give information on what the DCC can help you with when it comes to sensitive data. Questions on topics of encryption or data management are welcome during the workshop.
This workshop assumes you will bring your own laptop and works best on a Windows system. No prior knowledge of encryption is needed to participate.
